Alaska Snow Adventure Information

If you like snow and snow mobiling, snow boarding, down hill or cross country skiing on wide open lakes through spectacular scenic mountains and snow covered tundra, read on. I have lots of video footage of the area showing you what it is like. Call me for a copy.

We are set up in Dillingham and the surrounding areas. Dillingham is the hub for air travel in South West Alaska. It is about 350 air miles west of Anchorage by jet. Dillingham is a busy commercial fishing port during the summer salmon fishing season of June and July. It is also the major jump off point for bush travel for sport fishermen and hunters alike during the summer and fall. All of our trips are based out of Dillingham while the majority of the time you will be to the North and West of Dillingham. Except for some privately held native corporation lands, the area is mostly state or state park lands. The state park is Tikchik State Park. The park has a series of lakes that are surrounded by mountains that go from 30 feet to several thousand feet above sea level. Since it is a near coastal area they get a lot of snow during the winter with out the bone chilling cold most people associate with Alaskan winters. The temperatures during March are 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit, which make for great conditions for fun in the snow.

Adventure Activity Options

We have permission on all state lands. We can probably do what ever you have in mind as far as fun in the snow goes, so I'll just list some of the possibilities. Then you can call and arrange your personalized trip.

Accomodations

In Dillingham we have Bed and Breakfasts to stay at. You would snow mobile out into the bush daily to pursue your chosen activities. We also have a remote, 2 story cabin on a lake surrounded by mountains. It is a most enjoyable place to ride and the scenery... well I can't describe it and do it justice. I have been out there the last 4 springs and it is all that I need in a ride. The cabin is roomy, dry and warm but not a fancy lodge, yet. For bush stays on extended travel trips we have big custom made "Arctic Ovens" to keep us warm and dry. Those electing day trips from the Dillingham B&Bs. We have three big B&Bs that stand alone, private, fully equipped houses with phone, satellite TV, private bath, etc. -- top
